The MANGELSEN – Images of Nature Gallery opened in its current location in the Denver International Airport in February, 1995. Our staff strives to provide a relaxed atmosphere in which visitors can view Tom's work.
For the second year in a row, Denver International Airport will kick off its “Events at DEN” series of family-friendly activities and entertainment. The series will feature offerings unique to an airport as well as events that connect visitors with major happenings in and around the Denver community, including local art and music. All of the events will take place on DEN’s 82,000-square-foot open-air plaza.
May 19th | Five Points Jazz Festival
Music is in the air as we kick off Denver’s annual FREE concert featuring Colorado favorites Dotsero, Mary Louise Lee and Hazel Miller Band.
June 1-30th | Putt-Putt on the Plaza
In exchange for a putter, golf ball and scorecard, participants simply provide an ID at the onsite “Clubhouse” to test their skills on this custom, sponsor-themed 18 miniature golf course.
Aug 1-20th | Colorado Adventures
The plaza will be transformed into a variety of Colorado adventure activities for the whole family, including zip-line, rock climbing wall and virtual fly fishing experience!
Sept 28th-Oct 9th | Beer Flights
This popular annual event brings a taste of Colorado brews to the airport and coincides with worldwide Oktoberfest celebrations and the Great American Beer Festival in Denver. Admission includes a souvenir glass for sampling.
Nov 24th-Jan 7th | Ice Skating Rink
Back by popular demand! This year’s rink will be bigger and better at 34 feet wide by 60 feet long, complete with a variety of entertainment and background music.

The Butterfly Pavillion
The Butterfly Pavilion combines science education with interactive fun to teach visitors about invertebrates and conservation. Our five immersive exhibits, including our rainforest filled with 1,200 free-flying tropical butterflies, provide a year-round, unforgettable experience. Visitors can get up close and personal with live animals, enjoy daily educational programs, explore the wonder of the outdoors on the nature trail, and discover the newest traveling exhibit. Butterflies are just the beginning.
While in the Airport, make sure to stop by Lefty's Colorado Trails Bar and Grille on the Main Concourse, the Mile High Grille on the B Concourse, or the Front Range Grille on the C Concourse. Their half pound of grilled beefiness served on a bakery roll can be had with cheese, as a double, with shrooms, and/or chili!
