Isa Lake Lilies
Yellowstone National Park, Wyoming
Limited Edition of 1200 | Artist Proof 120
Straddling the Continental Divide, Rocky Mountain pond lilies and a downed lodgepole pine tell the story of one day in the life of Yellowstone National Park. Beavers build dams in ponds such as these, and muskrats often cache the stalks of the succulent lilies in their burrows. American Indians from this area knew of these rich reserves and periodically raided the muskrats' burrows for an emergency food supply.
