The Test of Time - Maroon Bells
Limited Edition of 1200 | Artist Proof 120
The sheer rock face of Aspen's famed Maroon Bells tell the geologic story of this mountain. Part of the Elk Range, a smaller range within the greater spine of mountains that make up the expansive Rockies, the Maroon Bells are a result of plate tectonics that have pushed the "basement stories" of 2 billion year-old igneous and metamorphic rock to their heights over the last ten million years. Known as one of the few places one may see the "old Rockies", the rock of the Maroon Bells themselves are more than 3 billion years old.
